Peer pressure can lead to faulty reasoning
I remember once viewing an animated leadership video; I don’t recall the name but the message was very clear. While the animated figures sat at meeting tables, everyone looked the same, talked the same, moved the same and spoke the same. Their actions seemed so robotic and stilted. And, not unlike the old fairy tale of Jack and Jill, by the end of the video, they all came tumbling down, their organization defeated and broken.
The video was a very good explanation of group think and how it can paralyze and/or ruin your organization because of faulty thinking and bad decision making. The video has literally stuck in my mind all these years and has had a great impact on my belief in the importance of diversity in an organization.
